Q. What is Cosmetic Dentistry?
A. Cosmetic Dentistry is the science and art of improving your smile. People notice your smile immediately. A wonderful smile enhances your appearance. Improved materials and techniques make a beautiful smile accessible to everyone.

Q. What procedures are used to create a beautiful smile?
A. Porcelain laminates, crowns, bonding, orthodontics and cosmetic contouring.

Q. What is Bonding?
A. Bonding is a procedure where a plastic (composite) resin is bonded to the surface of a tooth eliminating spaces correcting the shape, size and color to achieve a beautiful smile.

Q. What are laminates?
A. Porcelain laminates are porcelain veneers, the thickness of a fingernail which are processed at a laboratory and bonded to the tooth to correct, change, color, shape or size creating a beautiful smile. They are longer lasting than bonding and virtually maintenance free.

Q. What are Caps?
A. A cap is the same thing as a crown. The entire tooth surface is reduced and replaced by porcelain or porcelain fused to a metal creating a new crown portion conforming in proper shape, size and color with the remaining teeth.

Q. What is cosmetic contouring?
A. Cosmetic contouring is the minor reshaping of existing teeth where it is possible to eliminate minor discrepancies, correcting alignment, shapes and the contour of teeth without removal of major tooth structure.

Q. Why is orthodontics needed?
A. Sometimes a multifaceted approach is necessary when tooth alignment, space and position problems are serious. It is better to correct these problems first and then solve the problems of color, size and shape. The end result is better.
